Reporter Larry Rulison of the Times Union covers our neighborhood's opposition to North Street Acres. Mr. Rulison writes "Residents here say the proposal, which will need town Planning Board approval, will result in hundreds of additional cars traveling up and down the street every day while increasing traffic along Hudson Avenue, the road that runs parallel to the Albany County Rail Trail and brings traffic out to Delaware and Kenwood avenues, the two main thoroughfares that transect Delmar." This development went before the Town of Bethlehem Planning Board for the first time on Tuesday, March 19th, at 6:00 pm. Residents flooded the meeting and presented over an hour of commentary in opposition to this proposal. They cited critical issues such as lack of infrastructure, traffic congestion, pedestrian endangerment at the intersections and rail trail crossing, habitat destruction, and demolishing the character of the neighborhood by ballooning the population of this quiet cul-de-sac.
